Amarnath Yatra with Gulmarg and Pahalgam. The Amarnath yatra pulls in lakhs of travelers consistently who visit the site during Shravani Mela in July-August (Shravan month in Hindu schedule) – the main time in the entire year when the Amarnath Cave is available. The cavern is set at a height of 3,888m, around 141 km from Srinagar, the capital of Jammu and Kashmir and came to through Pahalgam town. The altar has a significant part to play in Hinduism and is viewed as perhaps the holiest sanctuary.
The yearly ‘Amarnath Yatra’ is set apart by ‘Pratham Pujan’ which is said to conjure the endowments of Baba Amarnath. It is said that the ‘lingum’ in the blessed cavern develops and recoils with the lunar cycle. In addition, since the ice is gathered from the water dribbling from the highest point of the cavern because of the liquefying of the ice over it, the ‘lingum’ arrives at a most extreme around July-August when the ice tops around the cavern are dissolving. Water saturates the stones that structure the cavern and logically blurs from there on. According to the religious convictions, it has been asserted that the lingam develops and contracts with the periods of the moon arriving at its tallness throughout the late spring celebration.
